I am a fisheries scientist working at the WA Fisheries and Marine Research Laboratories in Hillarys near Perth. I’ve been fascinated by fish since a very early age. I am very passionate about the research we do that underpins the sustainable management of our fisheries and marine resources more broadly. My current work covers a wide range of activities related with the monitoring and assessment of WAs temperate scalefish fisheries. Following the marine heatwave event in WA in the summer of 2010_11 I have become very interested in how marine fish populations are responding to ocean warming and developing management approaches to accommodate these changes. I am excited about the Redmap project and its potential to collect information via community involvement that can be used by scientists and resource managers in the future.
